Welcome to TMI

Tolani Maritime Institute is one of the largest maritime educational centers offering MARINE ENGINEERING and NAUTICAL TECHNOLOGY degree programs. TMI graduates are awarded B.S. TMI once again declared Winner of the Maritime Gateway Awards

After being the winner of the Maritime Gateway Awards in 2013, this year again Tolani Maritime Institute has been chosen by the Gateway Award Jury members for the "Excellence in Maritime Education"  for the year 2014.

The award was presented in a function in Mumbai on 20th August 2014. The trophy was received by Dr Sujata Naik-Tolani & Dr. B.K. Saxena on behalf of all in TMI. 10 students from TMI also participated in the event .


Inauguration of TMI Canal

Dr. C.P.Srivastava Memorial Lecture

The name of Late Dr CP Srivastava, a legend in shipping in his life time, needs no further introduction. Besides his other interests, he was also Chairman of the Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI) Governing Council from 1999 to 2005 and later Chairman Emeritus till his sad demise on 22nd July 2013. We had the good fortune of being guided by such eminent person in our formative years. To commemorate his contribution, TMI Governing Council has decided to hold an annual event in the form of ‘Dr CP Srivastava Memorial Lecture’ on 08 Jul each year which happens to be his birthday. The lecture will be delivered by an eminent person on topic of concurrent interest.

Mr Efthymios E. Mitropoulos, KCMG Secretary-General Emeritus of International Maritime Organisation was the speaker to deliver the inaugural “Dr CP Srivastava Memorial Lecture” on Tuesday, 8th July 2014. The event was held in YB Chavan Auditorium, Nariman Point, Mumbai .

Mr. Mitropoulos delivered lecture on “Trends and Recent Developments in Shipping and Challenges Ahead.”

Recognition of TMI by Japanese Government

After a rigorous audit of the systems, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan has recognised TMI as a certified institution under system of recognition and has decided to start applying it to the graduates after June 2014.

This in effect means that TMI graduates get equivalence in Japanese maritime education system and will be preferred in Japanese flag vessels.

Marine Boiler and Steam Engineering Courses at TMI
